Dreams Incorporated of Illinois (Dreams, Inc.) is a non-profit organization dedicated to revitalizing the Greater Roseland Community on the far south side of Chicago, Illinois, primarily through the Arts.
Our mission is to provide quality Arts education/enrichment for inner-city children/youth regardless of their ability to pay.
Our motto is “No dream is too BIG!”
The timing for Dreams, Inc. is long overdue. Arts programs continue to be cut from school budgets, and there are no similar programs available in the inner-city. The Youth ARTS (Always Reaching for The Stars) Program will provide quality education in theater, music, visual art, creative writing and dance. In addition to Arts education, Dreams, Inc. hopes to bring a variety of live Arts performances to the Greater Roseland area.
Some of our long-term goals are as follows:
- To equip young people with the skills needed to ensure a successful career in the Arts.
- To provide merit and need-based scholarships for all academic levels.
- To partner with local and national professional Arts organizations as well as local schools.
- To ignite the “Roseland Renaissance” by introducing live Arts to the Greater Roseland Community.
We hope to equip our participants with the skills needed to create successful careers. As they return to train the next generation, a “cycle of success” will be created. This cycle will be fueled by a ripple effect that positively impacts the individual, the family and the community. The revitalization process will continue as the introduction of live Arts performances and activities sparks the “Roseland Renaissance” and brings more income and opportunities to the community.
We believe that what we are proposing is unheard of in the inner-city, but this shouldn’t be a surprise because Dreams, Inc. believes that “No dream is too BIG!”
